October 10th, 2016
By some measure, today represents the sixth of fourteen consecutive days of premieres (12 of them BFI LFF days, two more to follow directly after), and today's was actually one I'd been particularly looking forward to. And then I was informed I'd be away from town for a meeting for most of the day. Argh.
And then I returned to find out that although I'd arrived somewhat later than I usually would at an event like this.. turns out my number in the queue was about 100 spaces better than I'd feared.
It really didn't make sense. But here's how it went down:
And that was more or less it. What I didn't mention in the commentary was how Jeremy Renner went into the cinema about 25 mins early without signing in our area or doing all his interview, and how Amy Adams didn't sign in our area and went into the cinema about 15mins early, ostensibly because of the unpleasantness of the autograph dealers in our public pen. Which sucks both because there are autograph dealers in EVERY PEN (and why aren't they banned?) but also we weren't allowed to leave the pen once they'd gone inside so I/we just stood around in the cold for a quarter of an hour doing nothing.
So... it's sexy and exciting is what it is. But on the other hand, we're only at the halfway point of BFI London Film Festival, and it's also another entry into the "Archive of Movie Premieres"
Until next time!
ps. if you want to know whenever I post a new journal (it's not every day - London Film Festival is an aberration!) on this site, fell free to follow me on Facebook or on Twitter, but don't do it by creepily following me around. Unless you're particularly pretty, I mean..
