20 Jul - The 'Horrible Bosses' premiere

July 20th, 2011.

It had only been a few days since the somewhat underwhelming (?) Cars2 Premiere,  and most of my clothing had dried since then so I was out once again for the premiere of the movie "Horrible Bosses". There's quite a good cast, and up to two (2) of them were set to attend!

I was there...

In a world where (say) The Office (in all its international variations) never existed, this would be such a novel idea : let's have a movie about horrible bosses. Still... Jennifer Aniston attending the premiere? *AND* it's under the cover of a bridge in case it rains? Okay, I'm there.

This premiere took place at BFI Southbank, which as stated is under a bridge. What this meant was slightly worse lighting, MUCH better protection against the possibility of rain, and the horrible prospect of having that damn Red Hot Chili Peppers song I hate going through my head for a few hours.

This is Radio 1 DJ Edith Bowman, who did the Red/Blue carpet interviews. Because you're interested in knowing this : the of the minor inconveniences of having a premiere under a bridge is that everything under it is darker while everything outside is really bright.

.. but I think the backlit effect is barely noticeable. This is director Seth Gordon, by the way, and I've just realised that he directed the documentary "The King of Kong" which was BRILLIANT (it's about the quest of some obsessive geeks to hold the world record score for the arcade game King Kong. It's incredible - very recommended).

Jason Bateman. I don't see it myself, but apparently he's liked by the Ladiez. And he was associated with the movie 'Hancock' which sucked... though I photographed him, Charlize Theron and Will Smith at that premiere

"That's the guy, over there. The one that thinks 'Arrested Development' would have been funnier if it had a laugh track" Erm... no. That would be me.

Doesn't like me criticising 'Hancock'. (Alternatively : May not even remember the movie 'Hancock')

Charlie Day is an actor in the film. I haven't heard of him myself, but he does appear on the movie poster, which definitely makes him more famous than me! (However, the "Me" from 2014 is like OMG!!! He goes on to be the voice of 1980s something Lego Spaceman BENNY in The Lego Movie!!!!!)

He directed "The King of Kong" and he's looking at me like this (I think I can feel honoured?). (Maybe he also disliked 'Hancock' or something...?)

Needless to say, I immediately offered to leave the premiere and help the poor lady find the missing piece of that thing she's wearing....  (Also : provisional photo for the day at the time of taking. I was hedging my bets on getting a photo of Jennifer Aniston while hoping the rumoured Chloe Moretz (Hit Girl from 'Kick-Ass') would show up. (She never does...) )

If this is Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory, then this is very cool. Otherwise, my apologies.

I don't know who this is, but the hair is amazing (the jumper doesn't go with it, in my opinion...)

This is Amanda Peet, apparently. She has no connection to the film, but was in '2012' and 'Gullivers Travels' (just between you and me, can I say it'd be brilliant if people from the film started attending the premiere... for the film they're in ??)

This is Jason Sudeikis (possibly), who may or may not approve of me joking about Arrested Development, Hancock, or might already be sending out his minions to help that girl find the missing piece of her wardrobe and doesn't want me getting in the way. However, crucially (and kind of incredibly) he's an ACTOR WHO IS IN THIS MOVIE!

The trickle has become a flood : it's Jennifer Aniston!! (She's in this movie, and has additionally been in no terrible movies, EVER) (okay, maybe five)

I swear I said nothing! (I merely thought it, and I honestly really, really can't remember *any* movie with Jennifer Aniston in it that was good!) (Me, 2014 : We're The Millers, 2013. Check it out)

Still, Ms Aniston appears unconcerned, meaning she probably won't instruct her bodyguards to headbutt me for my insouciance once she gets closer to my part of the crowd.

"You want me to sign this as Monica, Phoebe AND Rachel?? I'm not sure you're getting how this autograph thing works!"

"And we're off to enjoy the movie (by which we mean : make an appearance then leave about ten minutes later via the cars that are already backing onto the blue carpet to take us away!)"

So that was that. Photographically noteworthy, but kind of a dry premiere (in both senses of the word). Excitingly, there's another premiere scheduled this weekend so I'll see about getting to that. Until then:

Here's the archive of premieres which it joins
