13 Sep - The 'Creation' premiere

September 13th, 2009.

It's been a little while since my last premiere and based on the season, it may still be a little while until the next one. For this reason, no matter how obscure (and the fact that it was Sunday) I was still determined to go to this little premiere in London. Also, it wasn't at Leicester Square like all the others I've been to - this one was at The Curzon, Mayfair. (There's classy hotels, a Bentley and Bugatti dealership... you know the kind of place? I don't)

The real reason to go - the lead actress being Academy Award <tm> winner Jennifer Connelly (Best Supporting Actress, A Beautiful Mind), who is very pretty. And a good actress too.  Sadly, she didn't show up, but I had my camera and a spot in the queue. What was I going to do, turn around and go home? Unlikely...

I really like the image on this poster (no, really - I'm not saying that merely because I have nothing else to say!)

The Paps are lined up for the kill... photographically speaking.

Director John Amiel, who based on the DVD covers people were getting him to sign, directed 'Copycat' (Sigourney Weaver, Harry Connick Jnr - good film) and 'The Core' (ludicrously laughable film). Nice to know he's capable of such... uh.. diverse genres!

Oh, look. It's that guy . I have no idea who this guy is, actually. I've slowly been building up a knowledge of British Actors over the past year, but despite this, this wasn't a cast I was overly familiar with.

The face looked vaguely familiar - and my keen powers of observation noted people holding out DVD covers of the movies 'Wimbledon' and 'The Da Vinci Code' for him to sign. That (as well as people calling out 'PAUL' and there being a Paul mentioned in the movie poster) leads me to conclude this is Paul Bettany, the star of the film.

Paul Bettany is arguably even better known (or 'recognised') for his voice - he's the voice of Jarvis, Iron Man's "butler" in the Iron Man films. (Whether Paul Bettany's voice sounds like that out in the real world, I'm not going to say)

I know I've already posted a shot of the Wall O' Paps, but even though the lady isn't one of the stars, look at the hair! The hair! (I need to get out more...) - also the expression on the face of the Pap at the back.

Noted thespian and knight Sir Derek Jacobi. I recognised him from the Royal Premiere of "A Bunch of Amateurs" last year. He's also Senator Gracchus in "Gladiator" (2000). He's also graciously crossing the 'divide' between the Paps and the Red Carpet to sign a couple of autographs. Thank you, kind Sir!

I didn't like the Narnia films overmuch (in the first one, Santa Claus *literally* shows up and *literally* gives the kids weapons. Think about that for a while...) and accordingly I didn't pay much attention to the stars but I did recognise Anna Popplewell... who seems to remarkably young even after she was remarkably young in a film released several years ago now. So there you go, Anna Popplewell.

In the absence of Jennifer Connelly at this premiere, I've shortlisted this as Photo For The Day. Even though Anna Popplewell could be, like, 12 years old or something.

Oh look, it's ... it's... it's.... that guy! Please insert name and claim to fame < here > (Me, 2014 : Benedict Cumberbatch, you IDIOT) (In 2009 Me's defense, he wasn't nearly as well known five years ago, arrogant future me prick) (good to see I haven't lost the hair-trigger temper).... (I'm sorry. There was a premiere on?)

It's Natascha McElhone, who isn't actually in this film, but whom I'd recognise because I did watch 'Californication' where she was the female lead, as well as 'The Truman Show'. She didn't stop for autographs (some people apparently go to premieres just to watch the film... how weird!)

Fine... one more, because it's a small journal. (how's your day been... good?)

Well... if nothing else it's practice for the next one which is, per the Internet, for a film called "Just Said" (who?) (I never went to that one or have any record of it....)

Until next time!
