9 Dec - The 'Yes Man' premiere

December 9th, 2008.

True confession : I actually hadn't even heard of Jim Carrey's latest film until I first became aware of today's premiere yesterday. Not that I can't change my...uh... busy plans quickly. Also, I walked away from the 'Twilight' premiere last week because of all the screaming teenage girls five deep and felt like I needed something to compensate...

I like Jim Carrey, but I just sometimes wish they'd give him an Academy Award already (even for best costume if necessary) so that he stops taking Dramatic Roles and concentrates on the comedy he does so well.

The dancers kept the crowd entertained for a little while. They may also have contributed to me not strangling the lady in front of my who wouldn't stop bending down to get yet ANOTHER thing out of her freakin' bag.

Looks like Mr Carrey's Limo driver picked up the wrong vehicle for the evening and just ran with it.

"We can make it work if we all commit to it"... wait... I'm not sure if he's talking about saying Yes to everything or Communism, now.

" 'The Majestic'? "Me, Myself and Irene"? "Fun with Dick and Jane"? Never heard of any of them. Next question"

"And that movie you did where you were a gigolo, I really loved that one... wait, that wasn't you, was it? Uh... who are you again?". I call this photo "No I Am Not Rob Schneider"

I have no idea who this is. But if you're wearing a red scarf on a red carpet, you have my attention on the grounds of cool minimalism.

Awesomely, it looks like Jim Carrey is also signing the petition against his involvement in any Cable Guy sequels

"Lemony Snicket sequel? I'm up for it if the studio is... and it isn't". I've seen worse films.

My internal monologue : Awww. come on. It was Beijing in 2005. You were out of yuan and I loaned you $5 and you said you'd repay me. You don't remember?

Intriguingly, there's another premiere tomorrow, for Baz Luhrman's "Australia", which doesn't open here for another couple of weeks. I'll see how I go. If several billion teenage girls all turn up to scream at Hugh Jackman I might need to reassess...
